Weather In Nepal
Nepal’s weather is as diverse as its geography, ranging from the tropical lowlands to the frigid high Himalayas. Generally, the country experiences four distinct seasons:
Spring (March to May): Temperatures are mild and pleasant, making it an ideal time for trekking. Flowers bloom, and the landscapes are lush and green.
Summer (June to August): This season is characterized by the monsoon rains, which bring heavy downpours, particularly in the southern regions. The rain provides vital water for agriculture but can cause landslides in the hilly and mountainous areas.
Autumn (September to November): Often considered the best time to visit Nepal, autumn offers clear skies and moderate temperatures. The weather is generally dry, and the views of the Himalayas are spectacular.
Winter (December to February): Winters can be quite cold, especially in the mountains where temperatures can drop below freezing. The lower regions experience milder temperatures, though it can still be chilly. Snowfall is common in higher altitudes.
The climate varies significantly by region: the Terai plains are hot and humid, while the hilly regions have a temperate climate, and the high mountains are cold year-round.
