The balcony of the Annapurna is a well-known peak of the Himalayas since it was the first of more than 8000 meters to be surpassed … by the French! Among them, Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal. It is also the peak that has been reached less times and with a higher mortality rate. And yet, the walk that is offered to you is quite accessible!
The balcony of the Annapurna offers many advantages for those who want to discover the landscapes of Nepal without taking risks and without too much physical effort. In the first place, this walk is quite short, between 4 and 6 days according to the circuits, which is ideal for the less resistant. In addition, the course does not require being in an Olympic form!
The altitude is always moderate, culminating at 3200 meters maximum, which avoids the risks linked to altitude sickness. The difficulties are scarce and the majority of the route is carried out, in fact, in quite low areas in the valleys, by the middle of the rice fields. Passing through Gurung villages, a local ethnic group also allows you to get to know the local population and discover their culture and way of life.
The Annapurna balcony trekking, the perfect solution to mix and familiarize you with the local population at the same time as to enjoy a great nature in front of which humility and serenity invade us. Some trekking route in Annapurna region
