Mardi Himal base camp trekking is an exotic and interesting trek in Nepal. This is very popular trekking trail in the western Annapurna region of Nepal. It is located east of Modi khola across the valley from Hiunchuli. This trail is also known as an eco tourism trail that passes through lush forests filled with Rhododendrons and other vegetation. The attraction of the trek is pristine mountains views, beautiful valleys, and mixed local culture and landscaped hills. Mardi Himal takes you off ‘the beaten path’ away from the busy trails of the region. The first discovery of Mardi Himal was made in 1961 through a route via the east flank. Only camping is possible in significant areas on this trail.
Mardi HImal Trek Route Like most of the Annapurna treks except Annapurna Circuit, Mardi Himal Trek also starts and ends in Pokhara – second biggest city and naturally blessed place to relax after the big hikes in Annapurna. It is 200km to west from Kathmandu. All domestic airlines run several flights daily from Kathmandu and about 7-8 hours drive.
Mardi Himal Trek Cost will be according to budget, standard and deluxe tour plan and group sizes. Taking flights to and from Pokhara saves your time and comfortable rather than taking tiring long bus ride though riding bus reduces the trip cost. Accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara are excluded in the price. There will be neat and clean simple trekking lodge accommodation on twin sharing basis during the trek. We can book accommodation in Kathmandu and arrange transportation to/from Pokhara if you ask us.
Mardi Himal Trek Itinerary will depend on time you have and level of your physical fitness. This trek can be combined with other related treks to Annapurna; many people combine this trek with Ghandruk trek, Sikless Trek, Khopa Kair Lake Trek etc. Our carefully designed 10 days itinerary is for relaxing and comfortable trekkers. Taking domestic flights to Pokhara from Kathmandu and start the trek on same day shortens the trip as flights save your time. We also offer tailor-made Mardi Himal Trek so please send us your detail and requirements.

Continuing our trek on flag-stone steps, we walk uphill with the view of the Gurung village of Landruk. After trekking for a total of about 6 hours, we reach Forest Camp. Your children will thoroughly enjoy the mystical woods and serene views of the mountains and the small settlements, en route. Overnight stay at lodge in Forest Camp.
Today we start ascending uphill. The trail is interesting with lush bamboo, rhododendron and oak forests, and silent trails. As there are no settlements on the way, the trek will be pleasantly peaceful with just the chirping of birds and whistling of the Modi River flowing in distance. On reaching Low Camp after 4-5 hours of walk, you can enjoy peaceful and quality time with your children, looking at the mountains and the clear sky. Overnight at lodge in Low Camp.
This day has a lot of uphill climbs. Walking over lush green grass slopes will be a joyful moment. As we move upwards, the silver mountains will reign over the skyline whereas the river and valleys make for pleasant scenery below. The journey to High Camp takes about 4-5 hours.
Today we will reach the highest altitude of the trek at Upper View Point (4450m). From High Camp, we hike up to Upper View Point and then return back to High Camp.
